Oceanographic buoy

Principal Investigator: Dra. Ma. Eugenia Allende-Arandía
Dr. Alejandro Kurczyn

Description

In June of 2022, an oceanographic buoy was installed with the objective of monitoring the coastal area in front of the town of Sisal, Yucatan. Currently, currents, waves, and surface and bottom temperatures are being measured at its location.

The aim is to generate time series of in-situ measurements, which will allow us to validate numerical ocean models and study the hydrodynamic changes of the system in the area.
